Resources Unearthed Welcomes RSM Australia to Enhance Specialist Support for Mining and Resources Professionals
New collaboration brings together financial planning, legal, accounting, tax and business advisory expertise for the mining and resources sector
Resources Unearthed is pleased to announce that RSM Australia has joined its specialist network, with Nick Farr, Director, and Gabriel Ho, Partner, leading the delivery of accounting, tax and business advisory expertise through Resources Unearthed.
The appointment further strengthens Resources Unearthed’s multidisciplinary model of supporting professionals, executives, business owners and families connected to the mining and resources industry.
Since its inception, Resources Unearthed has brought together specialists across financial planning, legal and professional services to help individuals and businesses navigate the opportunities and challenges that often accompany careers, investments, business ownership and wealth creation within the resources sector. The addition of RSM Australia builds on that model, strengthening a specialist network that already includes financial planning expertise from Stratus Financial Group and legal expertise from Hillhouse Legal Partners.
Through Resources Unearthed, mining and resources professionals can access specialist knowledge and services spanning financial planning, legal, accounting, taxation and business advisory disciplines. The addition of RSM Australia further strengthens a collaborative network that already includes Stratus Financial Group and Hillhouse Legal Partners.
Established in 2013, Resources Unearthed was founded by former underground mine engineer and financial adviser Brett Cribb, who recognised the need for specialist advice tailored to the unique circumstances of mining and resources professionals. Drawing on more than two decades of experience advising people within the sector, Brett helped build Resources Unearthed as a platform that brings together experienced specialists capable of supporting the financial, legal, taxation and business challenges commonly faced throughout a mining career and beyond.
With more than 100 years of history in Australia, RSM has built a strong reputation supporting businesses and individuals across the mining and resources sector. From exploration and development through to production, growth and succession, its specialists provide expertise across accounting, taxation, audit, risk, governance, transaction support, ESG, corporate finance and broader business advisory services. With teams working alongside mining and resources businesses across regional and metropolitan Australia, and access to expertise from across the RSM International network, the firm is well positioned to support organisations operating in increasingly complex domestic and global markets.
Beyond its advisory services, RSM maintains a strong presence within the mining and resources sector through industry events, research and commentary. Its professionals are actively involved in industry discussions and regularly engage with mining and resources businesses across Australia, giving them a practical understanding of the issues facing the sector.
James Marshall, Director of Resources Unearthed, said the relationship was a natural fit.
“We are genuinely excited to welcome RSM Australia to the Resources Unearthed network. Their longstanding involvement in the mining and resources sector, practical approach and commitment to building strong relationships make them a natural fit for our community.
Nick and Gabriel bring significant technical and commercial experience, and we look forward to connecting our audience with their expertise and the specialist accounting, taxation and business advisory services for which RSM is widely recognised.”
The collaboration reflects a shared commitment to practical education, strong professional relationships and helping individuals and businesses make informed decisions.
Through Resources Unearthed, Nick Farr and Gabriel Ho will contribute educational content, participate in industry initiatives and support the broader Resources Unearthed community. The relationship will also provide mining and resources professionals with access to the accounting, tax and business advisory capabilities that have made RSM a trusted adviser to organisations and individuals across the sector.
Nick Farr, Director, RSM Australia Brisbane, said:
“Mining and resources is a sector we are passionate about and one in which we have built strong relationships over many years.
Resources Unearthed has created a unique platform that brings together experienced specialists who understand the unique opportunities and challenges facing the mining and resources sector.
We are excited to contribute our knowledge, share practical experience and help professionals, executives and business owners access the accounting, tax and business advisory support they need throughout their careers, businesses and investment journeys.
We see strong alignment between our organisations and look forward to working closely with the wider Resources Unearthed network.”
